Congratulations to Gilmore School Food Service Manager Laura Maguire and her team -- Melissa, Theresa, Nichole, Nicholina and Yazmin – who were honored by Chartwells for working together to open the Gilmore full service kitchen.
According to Principal Marybeth O’Brien, it was no easy feat to go from the satellite kitchen at the Huntington to opening the doors on the first day of school with hot service food and so much choice for the 575 student body. The team managed to arrange a system for Breakfast in the Classroom that accommodated the 2nd-floor students with their “trolley” so that students could continue to enjoy Breakfast in the Classroom without a minute lost to instructional time.
“We know that all of our students’ dietary needs are met when this team comes to their aid,” Principal O’Brien said. “It takes a FLOCK, to raise a HAWK!”
