Full STEAM Ahead

Picture
The Gilmore's vision is to be leaders in STEAM education, preparing and inspiring generations of learners to meet the challenges of the global society through the 3 R's, the 4 C's and the 5 E’s  (reading, writing, arithmetic, Communication, critical thinking, collaboration, creativity & innovation, problem solving, engage, explore, explain, elaborate, evaluate).  As a component of our Expanded Learning Time Grant we were awarded an expansion grant in 2015 to achieve our goals of:
* Increase student interest in STEAM areas
* Increase STEM achievement among all of Pre-K-12 students  in order to prepare graduates to be civically and college and career ready
Through our partnerships, enrichment and technology and blended learning initiatives, we are working towards meeting these goals.

Engineering is Elementary

  • EIE supports educators and children with curricula and professional development that develop engineering literacy.
  • Engaging, project-based engineering activities that integrate with science instruction
  • Thinking curriculum focused on solving engineering problems
  • Students are junior engineers as they follow a series of steps that collectively lead them to solutions linked to real-world problems through the use of the “engineering design process”
